About this release

This is a major product release with significant features built into the Revyz Cloud Platform allowing new features made available to all Revyz applications (where practical to their use).

“These updates mark a significant step towards our mission of supporting enterprise organizations to move to Atlassian Cloud, whilst still meeting their compliance, security and best practice obligations"
Stu Lees,  Head of Partnerships & Marketing, speaking at Team'24 in Las Vegas during the Advanced Configuration Workshop hosted by Revyz.

Expanded Security Protection - Malware Scanning of Attachments

This new malware scanning capability feature has been added to all of Revyz products. The new malware scanning feature enables all attachments within your Jira and/or Confluence Cloud to be intelligently scanned during automated backup processes. This feature also issues integrated warnings and alerts if a scan finds suspicious files to admins.

Expanded Data Protection - New Retention Periods

Data retention periods in backups are an essential setting that enables an organization to choose how long they wish to store copies of data that is backed up from Jira or Confluence.  Originally, Revyz provided a market standard level of retention of 12 months.  Due to customer demand driven by a variety of compliance needs, Revyz has now updated the retention periods available for both Jira and Confluence data backups to the following;

  • 6 Months
  • 12 Months
  • 24 Months
  • 36 Months

Although this feature essentially expands the amount of data that Revyz is storing on behalf of customers, this feature does not impact on customer pricing.

Expanded Data Protection - Unlimited Backup Storage

Jira Cloud and Confluence Cloud solutions offer a vast array of use cases for Atlassian customers and with that, the type and amount of data stored from customer to customer can vary drastically.   With this in mind, Revyz sought to simplify both pricing and usage of our data backup solutions to enable unlimited data backup storage for all clients.

This update removes the 'virtual cap' that was applied to previous versions' backup storage.

Expanded Data Protection - Enhanced JSM Backup and Restore Functionality

As the usage of Jira Service Management (JSM) expands, so too has the data API that Atlassian provides backup providers such as Revyz to gain access to.  In this update, Revyz has expanded the number and type of objects that we are able to back up, but moreso, have included the enhanced capability in our restore functionality that enables our end customers to restore entire JSM projects, not just limited to tickets and user data, but also customized configurations and the ability to re-link configurations at the time of restore in order to achieve the ultimate goal of 'single click restore'.

Advanced Analytics for Configuration

As the Atlassian Cloud platforms grow in capability, the configuration objects inside Jira becomes ever more complex.  This brings challenges to Jira Admins to manage and maintain their sites.   Revyz has, with Revyz Data Manager for Jira and Revyz Configuration Manager for Jira, improved the visibility of these objects through;

  • Improved Configuration Dashboard
  • More depth and granularity in analyzing configuration objects and making comparisons between sites.

BETA : Forever Archive

Revyz has also developed a future feature named Forever Archive, which, like it's name suggests allows for your backup data to be archived for long periods of time, outside of the set retention period.

This feature is a private BETA release only as its utilizing a new technology stack that involves cloud host features that are new to our platform.
