For enterprise businesses, or where Jira supports mission critical operations and/or sensitive and important business data, you should adopt the following best practices'

• Treat Jira data and security the same as any other system and protect with appropriate controls, policies, security layers and data backups
• Practice change control methodologies with configuration between Sandbox, Production and other sites
• Practice segregation of access for critical admin roles
• Regularly review and test security and backups
